Mission Ready is seeking exceptional college-age returned missionaries to join our staff!

Available Positions:

Overnight Counselor

This is a full-time, overnight position. Counselors will supervise a group of 8-12 participants and will reside in the residence halls throughout the program. You will assist with check-in and check-out, supervise evening activities, teach nightly devotionals, lead and motivate the youth, resolve conflicts and concerns, reflect the happiness that comes from living the gospel and following Jesus Christ. In general, overnight counselors will work from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Housing and meals will be provided.

Daytime Counselor (Teacher)

This is a full-time position between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Teachers will supervise 8-12 participants in a classroom setting as you help them develop gospel study and teaching skills through instruction, demonstrations, practice activities, and positive feedback. You may also be assigned to teach elective and/or language classes in larger group settings (30-150 participants).  Daily lunches will be provided, but overnight housing is not provided. Preference will be given to those with MTC teaching experience and/or fluency in a foreign language.

Basic Counselor and Teacher duties include:

  • Teach effectively and inspire the youth to prepare well for missionary service as you help them gain the skills and confidence to share the gospel in any setting
  • Strive to reach Mission Ready program objectives and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Create unity and a team atmosphere among participants and a foster a spiritual environment
  • Ensure the physical and spiritual safety of each participant in your assigned group
  • Attend daily meetings and report head count to Head Counselor or Program Administrator
  • Use discretion and judgment in working with and helping participants have a good experience
  • Be a responsible, dedicated, and enthusiastic leader

Requirements

  • Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing and qualify for temple privileges
  • Be a returned missionary
  • Abide by the BYU Honor Code, include dress and grooming standards
  • Be able to effectively teach, inspire, motivate and discipline the youth
  • Attend mandatory pre-program training session
  • Provide travel to and from Brigham Young University at your own expense for interview, training, and program
  • Teachers must have either MTC teaching experience and/or proficiency in a foreign language.

Strongly Preferred

  • Previous experience working with youth
  • Returned from your mission within the past five years
